What are the Division III Core Courses for NCAA Athletics?
Division III schools compete in athletics as a non-revenue making, extracurricular activity and are not allowed to offer athletic scholarships. The NCAA does not police the Division III level like it does the Division I and Division II levels. The NCAA does not require athletes to meet certain core courses.
Division III schools are considered some of the best academic schools in the country; therefore, they tend to offer generous academic scholarships to athletes. There are an estimated 450 schools that make up the Division III level, with schools ranging from 500 to 10,000+ students.
